Continuous Monitoring and The Government’s Response to The Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering’s Shale Gas

In addition to the headline news in December regarding the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement support for shale-gas, reference to a strong role for shale-gas in the Government’s ‘Gas Generation Strategy’ and the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change announcement that hydraulic fracturing for shale gas could resume, the Government also has published its formal response to the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering’s report on ‘Shale Gas Extraction in the UK’.

The response goes through each of the report’s ten recommendations and in broad terms endorses them all. The Government’s response to the recommendations is briefly summarised in the link below:
