Ground Gas Solutions Limited (GGS) are delighted to be involved in a new course on the environmental monitoring of water and methane for the onshore oil and gas industry. This new course  is delivered by Envireau  Knowledge in partnership with Envireau Water, Peter Dumble Hydrogeology, GeoWater, In-Situ and GGS and will take place on the 25th August 2015 at the University of Birmingham.

 

The course is aimed at a relatively high level, to demonstrate to onshore oil and gas operators why monitoring is required and what the key issues are for their industry. It is directed at operating companies and those responsible

Stacey McKenna, a Graduate Geo-Environmental Specialist  for GGS, has been raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Stacey completed the 5k Race For Life at Heaton Park, Manchester on Sat 12th July. Despite the hot weather she managed to complete the run in 40mins with the support of family and friends. So far, Stacey has raised over £500 for a charity close to many people’s hearts.

IGas Acknowledges importance of GGS

Speaking at Unconventional Gas Aberdeen 2014, Andrew Austin, CEO of IGas Energy acknowledged the role of Ground-Gas Solutions in environmental baseline monitoring for the shale gas industry.  GGS was able to prove the existence of natural biogenic gas at an IGas site prior to drilling activity.  This provided crucial baseline data for the site, on which a comparison could be made during the operational phase of the well.
